Caisa K: Finnish interiors

Welcome to Caisa Klemets, Finland, where talented Camilla lives with her sweet family. Caisa K was one of the first blogs I started to follow: how could I resist to a world in black and white with a delicate industrial touch? I simply couldn't, so here we are. The whole house is based on the basic colour palette but the use of textures (fabric, wood and even metal) gives the place a lovely domestic touch. But it is  the gorgeous kitchen the core of my passion: the number of details I'd love to borrow and use in my own home is just endless.  I leave you here with some great images she kindly allowed me to post.

Catarina Carreiras II

Caterina Carreiras II. There is always a good reason to do some paper volumes. Again, cannot agree more.

Catarina Carreiras I

Catarina Carreiras enjoys losing herself in the world looking out for shapes, colors, places: ideas. Graduated in Communication Design from Faculdades de Belas Artes de Lisboa, she has been working with Sam Baron since 2008, in Fabrica's design department, the Benetton's communications research centre (Treviso, Italy). Her approach is playful, ironic, unexpected. Like this work with paper: wouldn't you love to have one of this light weighted sculptures? I would.

Minimal white kitchen

Charlotte from Blackbird blog posted some pictures from her last work for Swedish company Alvhem.  I find this minimal kitchen very interesting: it is a functional yet charming room with good sized working areas (a must have for someone who loves cooking like me) and lovely details, like the string lights hanging from the ceiling (such a clever idea). Are you curious to know what the place looked like before Charlotte entered?  Follow the link..
Are you wondering if it is worthy to hire an interior stylist?

Dusty pastels interiors

Today post features the studio spaces of Danish label Beck and Sondergard photographated by talented Heidi Lerkenfeldt. An industrial atmosphere is at the core of this space, located in what seems to be an old factory (for the high ceiling and the huge windows). Absolutely in love with the colour palette based on dusty pastels.

Favourite wood design objects

Today is our last tranquil summer week-end before the craziness of our summer holidays and autumn days starts. Having both our families far away - and missing them so much - is equal to long journeys for D. and me. We'll start with a work trip to Madrid (his hometown): 600 km by car under the hot Spanish sun. A few days there and then down to Gredos for river baths and Spanish family reunions. Then, back to Barcelona for a pit-stop just to get the luggage ready for our flight to Venice for barbecues, hopefully Biennale visit and Italian family meetings. Finally, D. has just entered a 2 years master course that will start at mid September (very proud of him!).

I could get stressed but Sixto Rodriguez is playing and you cannot get stressed with him at all.

Happy Saturday to you all!

Raw wood and white interiors

Following Annie Lindgren's pin, I found this beautiful apartment in Sweden by Folkhem: the extended use of wood in the interior gives and the neutral tones of the decoration give the place a serene atmosphere. The styling is essential and elegant. The wooden box used to cover the lemon tree pot is a "must-try" idea.

I have no idea who the stylist is but may I guess it is my favourite one? Really looks like her work.

Punk rock interiors: Le Corbusier meets Konstantin Grcic

Flat n. 50 of the Cité Radieuse in Marseille  is the only apartment that still resemble the original designed conceived by one of the great master of Modernism, Le Corbusier. Nowadays, the flat has become a workshop of new ideas for several designers who "update" the famous flat to their personal and contemporary vision. This is the case of Konstantin Grcic who created a punk rock version of Le Corbusier's work by displaying gigantic punk posters along with his design pieces, like Myto chair the stool Miura by Plank; Chair One by Magis; Mayday lamp by Flos. The effect is very interesting.

Print Wish collage

I'm looking for new prints to hang at home and I have just found these beautiful watercolours at Danish online shop Stilleben: aren't they beautiful? I love the delicacy of the shapes and shades and the abstract design that makes it very modern. They are by Trine Struwe, a young Danish designer still studying at the Danish School of Design. They are already in my wishlist. Available at Stilleben.

Norm Architects for Menu

Danish design company Menu will soon present their new collection that looks very promising. If you have been following the blog on Facebook, you will have already seen some pictured shared via talented Norm Architects. The office has been collaborating with the Scandinavian design brand to create something unique and I'm very excited to see how the essential aesthetics of Norm Architects worked together with Menu. These pictures have been styled by Pernille Vest and photographed by Mikkel Rahr Mortensen.

Home inspiration on Instagram

I am very fond of Instagram: since I created my account there I got in touch with so many talented designers, bloggers, stylists and, above all, amazing people that share the same interior addiction I have. I post bits of my life in Barcelona (vidabarceloni is actually the account name), like the strolls we take to the Barceloneta beach with my husband on Saturday morning, the new arrangements I do at home, moodboards on my wall and also that sometime my bed is unmade till very late in the afternoon! As Jennifer Hagler said in an interview, it is true Instagram is a fast food version of blogging: you add a picture and a few words and it's done. But, isn't it true that images can sometime say more than one thousand words? If you haven't done it yet, join me here or just follow the mainstream online on your computer here or in my new Pinterest board here.
To all my IG friends, thanx for all the beauty you share every day.
